Damon Albarn will lead a collective in recording an album in a space of seven days. To be recorded in the Congo, the album, which is being recorded to benefit Oxfam’s work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will see Albarn teaming up with a collective of producers... including Gorillaz collaborator Dan the Automator, XL label chief Richard Russell, and London DJ Darren Cunningham (aka Actress). Amongst the others contributing will be Jo Gunton, Marc Antoine, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Jneiro Jarel, and Kwes.
This is Albarn's second effort to aid Oxfam. A decade ago, in Mali, he whipped up Mali Music, in aid of the African nation.
